Parents, If you have not previously selected an option for your child for Office 365 permission, you will be receiving an email from Office 365 Parent Consent in the next few days. Please take a few minutes to click on the link in the email and choose an option for your child. Below is a little bit of information about what can be done with Office 365 and the benefits if you choose Option 1. If you have not received an email about Office 365 in the past, please send an updated email address to your child’s teacher. If you previously chose a different option and would like to change to Option 1, contact your child’s teacher so that we can send information about changing your access. What is Office 365 for Cobb County Students?
· 1 TB of free cloud based storage that can be accessed from any device, anywhere (home, school, library, etc.)
· Ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Excel, etc.) online on any web enabled device without having to use a desktop or app version.
· Ability to collaborate with their classmates and teachers on group projects. Students can share an Office document with each other and live edit simultaneously. For example, 5 different students can be working on different slides on different devices on the same PowerPoint slideshow. They are able to see what their peers are adding to the presentation in real time while they are adding their own information to the presentation.
· Ability to download 5 desktop versions of Microsoft Office for free if desired. The desktop versions are not necessary for students to use Office 365. This is a money saver for families who wish to have the full desktop versions on their home computers.
